Lion Walk Shopping Centre is Colchester's premier shopping destination
Built in 1977, Lion Walk comprises 236,000 sq ft (21,925 sq m) of retail with some offices and residential flats. We are located right in the heart of Colchester, on High Street, and offer a mix of local independent and original retailers alongside the top High Street brands.
In 2008, Lion Walk was purchased by LaSalle UK Ventures Co, one of the world’s leading real estate investment managers. Plans were made for a £5 million refurbishment scheme, and the first two phases of the scheme have been completed to date, at a cost of £2.8 million. Phase 3, estimated to cost £2-3 million, is scheduled to begin early in the New Year and to be completed by summer 2010.
Lion Walk attracts almost 6 million visitors a year and continues to grow.
Community Involvement
Lion Walk is a proud supporter of Guide Dogs for the Blind, helping to provide mobility and freedom to blind and partially sighted people.
